"Streetscape Mississauga inspires residents to enhance the natural beauty of their own neighbourhood," said Stu Taylor, acting director of Recreation and Parks. "Together, we cultivate a city that cares about its environment and supports responsible horticultural practices."
"Despite this year's extreme weather conditions, we have had another successful contest," said Maureen Ricker, co-chair of Streetscape Mississauga. "Our residential class winners have proved, once again, that our city has some wonderfully creative gardeners, who can transform an ordinary front garden into a magical space. We are continually surprised by the high standard we see, which inspires us to expand and develop the contest into new areas."
The prizes will be awarded at a special ceremony on Monday, September 12 at 6 p.m. at the Bradley House Museum. Gardens were judged by trained volunteers from local horticultural societies and evaluated on visual appeal, overall design, general maintenance and originality.
