PERSONS WISHING TO MAKE DELEGATION MUST REGISTER AT LEAST TWO DAYS BEFORE MEETING
This letter is to advise the public that the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will be convening special meetings to secure public input related to the Pupil Accommodation Review process ongoing in the Dixie Shorefront Area. The Pupil Accommodation Review is a process which undertakes the necessary steps to enable the Board to determine whether it should close schools in the future. The process is in accordance with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board Pupil Accommodation Review Regulation and complies with the Ministry of Education Pupil Accommodation Review Guidelines.
The Dixie Shorefront Accommodation Review Area consisting of Queen of Heaven, St. Dominic, St. Edmund, St. James and St. Timothy Elementary Schools has been identified as an area with enrolments below 250 students, enrolments lower than 50% of capacity and/or an area experiencing an overall declining enrolment. During the course of the past year, an Accommodation Review Committee has undertaken an analysis of data and options to assess long term accommodation solutions for the schools in the Accommodation Review Area. The Accommodation Review Committee convened four public meetings to secure public input and subsequently prepared a report to the Director of Education.
In the Fall of 2008, the Board of Trustees will be conducting a public consultation process to secure input directly from members of the community related to the Pupil Accommodation Review process. In September, the Board will be conducting two special meetings to receive delegations from the public. Community members wishing to address the Board will be required to register as a delegation. Information regarding registering as a delegation and the rules for delegation are available on the Board’s website. In November, 2008, the Board of Trustees will conduct a special Board meeting at which a decision will be rendered regarding the Pupil Accommodation Review process. Members of the community are welcome to attend the special Board meeting.
The two special public meetings to receive public input have been scheduled as follows:
Date: September 22, 2008 and September 30, 2008
The special Board meeting has been scheduled as follows: Thursday, November 27, 2008
Location: Catholic Education Centre 40 Matheson Boulevard West Mississauga Time: 7:00 p.m.

If a developer is hoping to parachute in unreasonable heights or densities into an established community, this decision will send a strong message that it is not going to happen. Councillor Carmen Corbasson
The Toronto Star is reporting "An Ontario Municipal Board decision that rejects a controversial plan for a 21-storey condo tower in south Mississauga near Lake Ontario sets a new standard for how and where redevelopment and highrise intensification should occur, a councillor says."

Peel – In the advent of many bicycles being recovered throughout the Greater Toronto Area during police investigations, it has become apparent that few owners have registered their bikes.
Officers from the 11 Division Neighbourhood Policing Unit are encouraging all bike owners to take advantage of the simple process of registering their bike with the Peel Regional Police. This assists owners in recovering their bike in the event that it is stolen or missing, and subsequently recovered by police.
Residents can attend any local police division or community station in the Region, where registration forms are available. Once registered, a tag will be added to the bicycle frame.
