The system that was forecasted to bring substantial amounts of rain to our area stalled south of the border. Areas in the State of Michigan received upwards of 95 millimeters (mm) of rain as of 8 AM this morning. Locally, rainfall amounts are in the range of 10 to 20 mm. The rain is forecasted to taper off by the end of the day.
Water levels are currently increasing but expected to remain below flood stage. Local watercourses could still be dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges and dams. The public is advised to keep away from all watercourses and waterbodies. This Water Safety Statement will be in effect until Tues-May-19-2020.
